📋 Step-by-Step Guide (5 Steps)
Lay Foundation and Anchor Grid
Mark a precise square column grid onto the acrylic base plate using the steel ruler and a fine scribe. Cut the structural foam mat foundation to size using the hot wire cutter and bond it centrally to the acrylic base with cyanoacrylate.
- • A perfectly centered foam mat foundation adhered flush against the transparent base plate.
- • Visible, sharp 90-degree grid lines scribed along the perimeter foundation footprint.
- • Misaligning the foundation off-center, causing structural imbalance as vertical levels are added.
Erect the Central Shear Core
Cut four vertical foam core walls to the designated tower height. Join the walls into a rigid rectangular elevator/utility shaft core, checking every corner with the mini machinist square before locking joints with CA glue and accelerator.
- • A vertical, plumb central rectangular shaft standing perpendicular to the foundation.
- • Zero visible light gaps along the four corner seams of the core assembly.
- • Allowing the core shaft to twist or lean during glue setting.
Install Floor Plates and Perimeter Columns
Cut uniform horizontal floor plates from thin styrene or wood sheets with center cutouts that sleeve snugly over the core. Slide floor plates at equal vertical increments, bonding vertical wood strip columns along the outer perimeter to support the floor cantilevers.
- • Evenly spaced horizontal floor tiers stacked symmetrically along the central core.

Fit Outrigger Trusses and Lateral Bracing

- • Crisp, cross-braced or chevron truss patterns locking the core to outer columns at designated plant floors.

- • Cutting diagonal braces slightly too long, forcing the exterior columns to bow outward.
Mount the Exterior Curtain Wall Facade
Score and snap clear 0.5mm acrylic panels to match each facade face. Use tweezers to carefully align the transparent curtain wall sheets flush against the outer perimeter column edges, bonding only at designated slab contact points.
